Buoyant Aero builds small, autonomous airships. We’ll use our airships to affordably transport cargo in remote and rural communities, increasing quality of life and economic opportunity.
At Buoyant Aero you’ll have the opportunity to design, build and fly a new unmanned aircraft from scratch. We’re a small and growing team of engineers, backed by some of the best investors in the world. We’re moving quickly to bring our aircraft to market, and we’re looking for people who want to make affordable air cargo by drone airship a reality.

Mechanical Engineer
Buoyant Aero is seeking a generalist mechanical engineer to work on aerospace structures, powertrains, and payload mechanisms.
Required Qualifications:
Experience with hardware design and CAD software
Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems
Self-motivated and good at working in small teams
Ability to learn new technical topics quickly
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar field.
Nice-to-haves:
Past drone, robotics, or aerospace projects
Experience with structural analysis
Experience with aerodynamic analysis and CFD software (Ansys, Fluent, OpenFOAM, etc.)

Aerospace Controls Engineer
Buoyant Aero is seeking an aerospace controls engineer to develop the controls system of our autonomous airships.
Required qualifications:
Hands on experience with designing and testing aerospace control systems
Experience writing and debugging controls software
Self-motivated and good at working in small teams
Fast technical learning ability
Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Nice-to-haves:
Past drone, robotics, or aerospace projects
Experience writing software for drones or autonomous vehicles
Experience with common autonomous vehicle sensors (cameras, radars, lidars)
Experience with sensor and autopilot calibration and testing
Masters degree focused on controls (Aerospace, EE, CS, or ME)
